When will the NFS-1 be available?

We're targeting early to spring 2027. Because safety certification can take longer than promised, we're giving everyone a heads-up that it could be as late as June 2027. Kickstarter backers get the first units off the line; pre-orders ship right after.

Can I buy a pair right now?

You can reserve one. The NFS-1 is available to pre-order on this site for $149. You're charged today and we ship when production and safety testing are complete.

How much will they cost?

The pre-order price is $149. Retail price will be $179.99.

What if I change my mind, or you miss the ship date?

You can cancel a pre-order for a full refund at any time before it ships — no deadline, no restocking fee, no explanation needed. If we announce a delay and you'd rather not wait, the same applies. Full details are in our cancellation and refund policy.

Will prescription lenses be available?

Not at launch — the NFS-1 will not offer prescription or bifocal lenses. The lenses are replaceable, and magnification (reader) lens options are planned, available around the time the glasses ship.

Are they OSHA approved?

OSHA doesn't approve products directly — it requires eye protection that meets ANSI Z87.1. The NFS-1 is built to ANSI Z87.1 impact-rated standards. Independent certification testing is in progress and has not yet completed, and we'll publish the certification status the moment it's finalised rather than claim it early. IPX5 water-resistance and applicable FCC/UL testing are being completed on the same schedule.

Are they intrinsically safe (rated for explosive environments)?

No. The NFS-1 is built to ANSI Z87.1 impact-rated and IPX5 standards, but it is not ATEX / IECEx / UL Class I Division rated for combustible atmospheres. Future versions are in the works.

Is there a fitover version for regular glasses?

The NFS-1 is standalone safety eyewear, not a fitover. With replaceable lenses and planned reader options, most people won't need a second pair underneath.

How does the battery work?

The NFS-1 uses a rechargeable, swappable battery system so you can carry a spare and keep working. Final runtime specs will be published before shipping — we'd rather publish a number we can stand behind than one we can't.

Do the LEDs cause glare in your eyes?

No. The LEDs are recessed into the frames with an opaque barrier between the LEDs and lenses — the light goes forward onto your work, not into your eyes.

Do you work with dealers or tool trucks?
