Meet the Inventor

Matt Wise is an award-winning cinematographer from Los Angeles with 20+ years of lighting expertise.
Using what he has learned, he invented Luminyx illuminated eyewear.
Wise has lensed major music videos for a massive roster of global artists, including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, Jhené Aiko, and Jennifer Lopez.
His feature film credits include the horror-comedy Werewolves Within, the battle rap satire Bodied, and the dramedy Accidental Texan.
It All Started in the Dentist's Chair
While Matt was getting his teeth cleaned, his dentist was working under one of those single-lens LED headlights — and it got him thinking: they could see so much more, without shadows, if there were a series of LEDs around the frames of the glasses they were already wearing.
With his face still numb, he drove home and looked up LED glasses. To his surprise, all he could find were novelty glasses for nightclubs, birthdays, and New Year's.
The next day, he filed the patent.
That was December of 2022.
From Idea to the NFS-1

Today that idea is the Luminyx NFS-1: patented (US 12,443,056 and US 12,540,721), ANSI Z87.1 impact-rated safety eyewear with soft, even, shadow-eliminating light built into the frames. Designed in the USA, backed by tradespeople on Kickstarter, and built for the people who work where the light doesn't reach.
Luminyx LLC is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.
